Semi-gloss waterborne special lacquer
HELO AQUA 40 is a semi-gloss water-based special lacquer based on polyurethane dispersion. Intended for indoor and outdoor use on wooden surfaces. Paint product groups 512, 531, 641 and 642 according to MaalausRYL 2012 (FI). Gloss: group 3 (FI), semi-gloss.
Wooden and parquet floors as well as stairs indoors, wooden furniture indoors and outdoors.
PRE-TREATMENT OF SURFACE
The wooden surface should be dry, well sanded and carefully cleaned from dust and other impurities. Mix HELO AQUA 40 carefully before all applications, but make sure that air does not enter the paint.
APPLICATION
Untreated parquet and board floor: Primer with 15% thinned HELO AQUA 80. Apply with a brush, putty knife or roller. The topcoat is made with HELO AQUA 40 in 2-3 layers with a brush or putty knife. The varnish is spread out in the direction of the wood's fibers and pattern. Previously varnished floors: It is recommended that the surfaces be sanded completely clean of all varnish and that the above directives for varnishing untreated parquet and board floors be followed. If the old lacquer layer is in good condition, HELO AQUA 40 lacquer can be applied on well-sanded (paper no. 150 or finer) substrates in accordance with the cover varnishing directives. In this case, however, a sample coating should first be done on a small surface to ensure that the adhesion is good. Stairs and furniture: For stairs and furniture, brush application is recommended. Primer if necessary with HELO AQUA 80. First apply a thin layer of HELO AQUA 40 and let the surface dry for at least an hour. Sand the surface and remove the sanding dust carefully. Apply a new coat of varnish and let it dry for about 3 hours before the third varnish. Note! For outdoor surfaces, nuanced varnish is recommended and avoidance of use on horizontal surfaces.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS
During application and drying time, the temperature of the air, surface and varnish must be above + 10 ° C and the relative humidity below 80%.
MAINTENANCE
The varnish reaches its final hardness within 1-2 weeks. Therefore, avoid hard strain during the first two weeks.
